Your bill for tuition and fees will be able to view on WebAdvisor. Follow the “Registration Billing” link. You will NOT be sent a paper copy of your bill.August 1: University Math: Are you ready?
One of the biggest fears of many students entering first year is that they will struggle because their math skills are rusty. If you are taking ANY course that uses math in the fall, brush up and get ready. Profs teaching courses that use or build on math will just assume you have your high school math down pat and at your fingertips. If you're in any program that involves math, we'll send you the problem set by mail. The solutions will be available here on STARTonline.ca.August 1: Handbook for Parents & Families
Also arriving by mail, this useful resource will be delivered in early-August. It is full of useful tips and information about the transition to university life. In addition, our Parents and Families website has a regularly updated blog and other key pieces of information all year long.August 12: Tuition deposit due
All payments to the University of Guelph must be submitted by the close of business on August 12, 2011 to hold your place in your courses. This can either be full payment or a minimum non-refundable registration deposit of $200.00. Non-payment of your account can have detrimental consequences such as penalties and/or deregistration from courses.August 12: START for first-timers
Students whose parents didn’t attend university often find that they have to explain campus life to their families at the same time that they’re trying to figure it out for themselves. This one day workshop will give you the chance to preview university life together with your family, and will provide you with information and support specific to your needs.August 9 - 18: Countdown to Guelph
Alumni Affairs & Development has partnered with the Centre for New Students to bring you this exciting opportunity to launch your UofG career starting right in your home community. The Countdown to Guelph events are a unique way to connect with alumni in your area who have recently graduated and those who have built a lifetime of success on their U of G experience. It’s also a great way to meet other new students in order to start the all important process of forging new friendships. This event is for the whole family!- August 9 – Pickering

August 10 - 14: Trailhead
Explore beautiful Algonquin Park as part of a five-day canoe adventure with other new students. In the Trailhead program you will travel and camp together, have the chance to be a part of some exciting activities, work co-cooperatively as a team and then end up with a great new network of friends to return to campus with this fall! If you’re looking for an adventurous and unforgettable way to start your university experience, then the Trailhead Program is definitely the right choice for you. Orientation Week is for everyone! All you need to do is show up with a sense of adventure and a willingness to give things a try. This action-packed week will introduce you to the social and academic environment on campus. Not only is O-Week a lot of fun, but you’ll also learn valuable skills to help you succeed in your first year. More information will be available in August.September 3: Off Campus Kick-off
Whether you’ll be living with your family, or living off campus on your own or with friends, your experience will be unique. The Off Campus Kick-off is the beginning of Orientation Week for you and our way of helping to ensure you start the year off right. You’ll get an overview of Orientation, meet other new students, discover campus resources, and of course have fun. Dinner will be provided and there will be a special break-out session for older students. Expect to spend the evening on campus, starting at 5:30 pm in Rozanski Hall.September 3: Residence Move-in Day
If you'll be living on campus this year, you'll receive instructions relating to move-in day well in advance. Note that you'll be asked to arrive within a two hour window of time, which will help to distribute arrivals evenly throughout the day. Be sure to follow the map and instructions carefully as there will be special routes for each residence hall and some roads will be closed. Don't worry, we'll have lots of Orientation Volunteers on hand to helpout.
