Leaders of the Day are specialists at creating powerful post-secondary transition experiences and at helping students to begin to excitedly discover their own strengths and talents. By taking new students at the University of Guelph into the beautiful wilderness areas of Ontario, we have the opportunity to socially “even the playing field” by taking students out of their everyday settings and circumstances and into the heart of an unforgettable adventure together.
Our 5-Day Canoeing Expedition will take place within world-renowned Algonquin Park. Students need only pack their basic clothing as outlined by the Leaders of the Day clothing list. All other food, technical equipment and/or personal gear will be covered as part of the course fee. You’ll have the chance to travel through some of the world’s best wilderness, see beautiful flora and fauna, and fall asleep beneath a star-lit sky to the sounds of crickets and chirping frogs.
Through a series of very intentionally designed challenges and activities, this strength-focused Trailhead Program invites self-discovery, deepens resilience and assists students in forging the type of lasting new friendships that will help them set down good roots as they enter their first year at the University of Guelph. The skills that students acquire on these expeditions are highly transferable tools that serve as vital keys to unlocking their own personal successes.
“Life is uncharted territory. It reveals its story one moment at a time.”
