Welcome to STARTonline.ca: your summer Orientation experience to the University of Guelph! We are so excited to have you be a part of this online community. My name is Allison, and I’m the Incoming Student Facilitator this summer. This basically means that I’m one of the many people monitoring this site that are ready to answer any and all questions you may have about the University of Guelph  Please take the time to explore the many features of the STARTonline.ca website. We have open discussion forums for asking questions and meeting other students, private forums for discussing your interests, a chat room, weekly trivia contests, and a Book Club.

We also invite you to check the daily blog entries from the many campus services and student organizations that exist to serve you. We know you have a lot of questions to ask and there are many more people on this campus ready to help you!

As you spend some time on STARTonline.ca you will probably notice that a group of dedicated individuals who call themselves “Online Group Leaders” are moderating this site. OGLs, or “Oogles” as they’re affectionately known, are upper year U of G students who are keen to provide you with helpful guidance and some of their knowledge about the University of Guelph. They can also fill you in on what the local community has to offer to make your first year here a success.

We hope you find the opportunity to connect with other new students like yourselves, the Online Group Leaders as well as the friendly staff here at the Centre for New Students.
